Rag-Time is Grimo's second solo album (aka Dominique Grimaud, co-founder of the French underground groups Camizole and Video-Aventures). Using 78 rpm records, Moog synthesizer and Fender Stratocaster guitar, Grimo composed disjointed fox-trots, crumpled tangos, punk-ish or Hawaiian waltzes. In addition to these original compositions, this album includes two covers: "The Union Pacific" by John Fahey and "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin, as well as an interpretation of "Rondo Alla Turca" by W.A .. Mozart. Released on CD in 2003, Rag-Time was hailed by the French magazine Octopus as the work of an artist belonging to "this generation of musicians without fixed address (Guigou Chenevier, Jac Berrocal, Pascal Comelade, etc.) whose musical practice is based on an ever-refined dosage of stubborn individualism, collective experiences and applied pataphysics. "
